THE ADA AMENDMENTS ACT BECOMES LAW

Today, President Bush signed into law the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. As we explained in our e-lert last week, this legislation significantly broadens the scope of protection that will be afforded to individuals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The amendments will become effective January 1, 2009. In light of the changes, Shawe Rosenthal is hosting a series of complimentary seminars to assist clients in preparing for their new compliance obligations. Please contact any Shawe Rosenthal attorney for assistance in understanding these new legal responsibilities.

We have scheduled the following the dates and times: Tuesday, October 7th at 8:30 a.m.; Tuesday, October 14th at 10:00 a.m.; and Tuesday, October 21st at 8:30 a.m. Space is limited! To reserve your spot, please contact Lisa Mangus at 410-843-3462 or lam@shawe.com.
