Hammock represents employers in a broad range of employment matters, including employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, wage/hour regulation, and sexual harassment, both in court and before federal and state agencies. In addition to her litigation practice, Melissa routinely counsels management on compliance issues, litigation avoidance strategies, and various human resources issues. Prior to joining Shawe Rosenthal, Melissa was an associate with a litigation firm in Baltimore where she defended employers before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, Circuit Courts throughout the State of Maryland, the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, and various state and federal agencies. Melissa lectures at Council on Education in Management seminars on various employment law topics, including the Family and Medical Leave Act, violence in the workplace, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. |
