Long defends employers in various areas of employment and labor law, including employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower claims, sexual harassment, and wage/hour regulation, both in court and before federal and state agencies. In addition to his litigation practice, Kraig also provides advice and counsel to clients concerning personnel issues and compliance federal, state, and local employment laws. Prior to joining Shawe Rosenthal, Kraig spent five years as an associate in the litigation group at Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C., where he handled cases involving employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, retaliation, and wage and hour claims in federal and state courts, and before administrative agencies. Kraig also has significant experience conducting internal investigations of employee complaints, counseling employers on all aspects of employment law, and drafting employment policies and manuals, separation agreements, and releases. Immediately prior to joining Shawe Rosenthal, Kraig was Senior Counsel with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division where he investigated and litigated civil and administrative actions involving violations of the federal securities laws. After law school, Kraig served as a law clerk for the Honorable Alexander Williams, Jr. of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. |
