Bruce S. Harrison has over 30 years experience representing
management in regard to employment claims and actions including sex, race,
national origin and other discrimination suits, contract and tort allegations,
sexual harassment claims, actions alleging abusive or wrongful discharges,
and Fair Labor Standards Act cases.
With a national practice, Bruce has represented clients in a wide range
of industries, with particular expertise in manufacturing, financial services,
food services, and healthcare industry issues. He has represented numerous
major companies with respect to employment claims and litigation, including
McDonald’s, Government Employees Insurance Corporation (GEICO),
Legal Services Corporation, and the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.
Before joining the Firm, Bruce served as a senior attorney at the Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission from 1971 until 1976. Since then, he
has defended management with respect to employment claims, including administrative
charges of discrimination, and state and federal lawsuits.
Selected by the Firm to edit "The Employment Law Deskbook" and
“Corporate Counsel Solutions: Disciplining, Discharging and Discrimination
Policies,” published by Matthew Bender, Bruce has also co-authored
three monographs published by that entity: "Avoiding Employment Discrimination
Charges," "Employer Discipline and Discharge," and "Responding
to Employment Discrimination Charges." He has also been a contributing
author to books published by the Bureau of National Affairs, including
"Age Discrimination: A Legal and Practical Guide for Employers."
In addition, he is a contributing editor of the "Maryland and Federal
Employment Law Manual," a publication of the Maryland Chamber of
Commerce.
Bruce’s accomplishments in the field of labor and employment law
have been recognized in his election as a Fellow of the College of Labor
and Employment Lawyers in 1999.
